Big Phred Music recording artist John Wihl has built his musical foundation on years of experience in the industry as a musician, singer/songwriter, arranger and producer in a wide spectrum of projects.

His musical credits range from local choral groups and jazz ensembles in the Sacramento area to the Sacramento Symphony and Camellia Symphony Orchestra to the Northern California and Nevada club and concert circuit to session work in both local and major studios from Sacramento to the Bay Area to Los Angeles.

Through it all, John has maintained full-time participation in liturgical music ministry as a choir director, liturgical musician, cantor and parish music director.  He is currently serving as music minister at Holy Family Catholic Church in Citrus Heights, California.

John founded Big Phred Music in 1981 to facilitate limited publishing of his early compositions, and has since maintained a very low profile for BPM while developing several outlets for his music, including a contemporary Christian band (Voice of Reason) a contemporary Christian choral group (Joyful Noize) and a children's music ministry at Holy Family Church and School.  In 2001, Big Phred Music is moving into the production and distribution end of the industry with the release of VOR's "Let Him In" EP and the CD single of John's "Holy Family".

Music has always been a family affair for John.  He was first introduced to praise music at the ripe old age of five by his sister Linda Wihl, and performed for years in the band Nitro with his brother Tim Wihl. Since 1985 he has shared the stage and the studio with his favorite singer, his wife Corinne, in WRB, Joyful Noize, and Voice of Reason. His son Matthew is a soloist in the Holy Family Children's Choir, and daughter Nikki is waiting in the wings with early signs of her mother's sultry alto voice.
